Privacy Policy.

Amplify Fundraising is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard personal information, and outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how we manage that information.

We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way personal information is collected, used, disclosed and managed. Personal information is, generally speaking, information or an opinion relating to an identified, or reasonably identifiable, individual.

A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles may be obtained from the website of the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.

Who we are

Amplify Fundraising (ABN 80 742 127 552) is a fundraising analysis, strategy and advisory practice operated by Paul Bailey, based at 59 Parklands Avenue, Somers VIC 3927. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Amplify Fundraising.

What personal information we collect and why

Personal information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. The personal information we collect through our website is generally limited to information you choose to give us, such as your name, email address, phone number and organisation details.

We collect this information when you:

  • submit an enquiry or contact form on our website; or
  • sign up to our mailing list to receive news and updates.

We collect your personal information for the primary purpose of responding to your enquiry, providing our services, and sending communications you have requested. We may also use it for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, where you would reasonably expect such use. When we collect personal information we will, where appropriate and practicable, explain why we are collecting it and how we plan to use it.

Marketing communications

Where you sign up to our mailing list or otherwise provide consent, we may send you news, updates and information about our services. We will only send marketing communications where you have consented or where otherwise permitted by law. You may unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us in writing.

Sensitive information

Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a professional or trade association, health information, or criminal record. We do not seek to collect sensitive information through our website. Where we do collect sensitive information, we will only use it for the primary purpose for which it was obtained, for a directly related secondary purpose, with your consent, or where required or authorised by law.

How we use and disclose your information

We may use and disclose your personal information for the primary purpose of collection, for reasonably expected related secondary purposes, for purposes to which you have consented, and in other circumstances authorised by the Privacy Act. Generally, we may use your personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiries, feedback or requests;
  • provide you with the services or information you have requested;
  • send you communications or publications you have requested or that we think may interest you; and
  • analyse and improve our website, communications and services.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Your personal information may be disclosed to third parties where you consent to the disclosure, to service providers who assist us in operating our business, or where required or authorised by law.

How we protect client and donor data

In the course of our work we are often entrusted with donor, supporter and campaign data belonging to our not-for-profit clients. We treat all such data as confidential and handle it under a dedicated Data Protection and Confidentiality Agreement. Under that framework we use client data only for the agreed purpose, restrict access to approved personnel, apply multi-factor authentication and access controls, store data only in approved environments, and never use identifiable client data in public AI tools without written approval. Client data remains the property of our client at all times.

Security and storage of your information

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include limiting access to information, requiring third-party providers to maintain acceptable security measures, and applying physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in line with industry standards.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, to comply with legal obligations, and to resolve disputes. When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify it.

Overseas disclosure and cloud storage

Personal information may be stored or processed using secure third-party cloud service providers that assist us in operating our business, including website hosting, email and data storage. Some of these providers may be located outside Australia. Where personal information is disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle it in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles or that appropriate safeguards are in place.

Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We do not operate these websites and are not responsible for the collection or handling of personal information by their operators. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

Accessing and correcting your information

Under the APPs, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. To make a request, please contact us in writing using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information. Some exceptions to access apply under the Privacy Act; if we decline a request we will explain why.
